Harlot OCC Lip Tar
I am sure by now you have all heard of OCC Lip Tars, they are a hybrid lipstick lip gloss and have become a cult favourite. Makeup artists love them because they can mix the colors to make their own custom shades and everyone loves them for their staying power.
When you first try them they can be a little tricky as it is hard to believe that you need such a small amount of product, truly you only need the size of the top of a pin. It is also best to use a brush to apply your Lip Tar, I love to use an angled eyeliner brush like MAC 263 because you need something that will give you a sharp edge and this way no need for lip liner.
The best thing about the Lip Tars is that they can be used as a lip stain (apply a thin layer blot with tissue and then reapply) and a lip gloss (add a small amount of Lip Tar with your favorite lip gloss and mix). If you use your Lip Tars to create a lip gloss just remember you will lose some of your staying power. Lip Tars mean that you can now wear a red lip and it will last more than 5 minutes and won’t stain every glass you own! My favourite red lip tar is Harlot, a coral red that is a great red to wear for the summer.
Final note, I used Joe Fresh Lip Stains as a base for the Lip Tars and when you do this the Lip Tars last all day and night … really I woke up with perfectly applied red lips!
